ARCH ENEMY Prepare To Record New Album
January 25, 2003ARCH ENEMY are scheduled to enter the studio in early February to begin recording the follow-up to 2001's "Wages Of Sin".
"[Producer] Andy Sneap is coming over to Sweden on the 4th of February for the pre-production," guitarist Michael Amott wrote on the band's official web site. "This process involves a final analysis of the material and various preparations for the recording session – basically eliminating any weak points! We are rehearsing like mad now...getting ready for Andy's arrival (we are getting very self critical at this point, ha-ha!). We're also doing a week of dates here in Sweden and Norway before he arrives! On the 10th of February we fly to the UK and start recording drums…then it's guitars, bass and vocals + extra shit. We'll be spending 1 month in Andy's Backstage studio facilities.
"We are confident that Andy Sneap is the man to capture the whole vibe we've got going on right now...it's fresh and insanely heavy - it feels so good being in this band right now!
"What can I tell you about the new songs? Lots of HEAVY riffs and COOL parts, the melodies and hooks are the strongest we've come up with so far in our career I believe. Lyrically it's heavier too…raw and real. And yes, there's some ultra-sick guitar shit going on too... otherwise it wouldn't be ARCH ENEMY, right? For us, It's a matter of picking up were we left off with 'Wages Of Sin' and just pushing ourselves to be 100% better!!! (Not that easy, we raised the bar pretty damn high on the 'W.O.S.' album!)."
